The final phase of Russia’s coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V trial will be held in the UAE as a part of cooperation between the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Eurogulf Health Investment. Abu Dhabi’s public hospital operator SEHA, the Ministry of Health and Prevention of the UAE and Department of Health Abu Dhabi will oversee the trial. Volunteers for the trial will be medically supervised for 90 days after being administered the vaccine and the intermediate results are expected by the end of 2020.
At the same time the Trade Representation of Russia in the UAE was approached by the Saudi-Emirati company Bassam Trading, which is engaged in medical products distribution both in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Bassam Trading proposed its agency services for the Russian manufacturers of the coronavirus vaccine in the said countries.
